So, I took my kid and my cousins to the beach a couple weeks ago. We looked at the tide pools and found the norm. Anemones, tiny crabs, and we stumbled on a tiny sea star. One of the little picked it up and immediately grabbed it and started pulling it out of the water. Grabbed his hand and we gently set it back down.

We talked for a minute about why we leave the animals where they are. His response to it all? Basically, we leave the animals in the water where they can breathe, because we wouldn’t want animals in the ocean to pull us in the water, where we can’t breathe.

I laughed because, yeah, that’s pretty much it. Kids have a different way of looking at things. Cool, and he gets it. Now I’m sitting here thinking about how his mind got there. What a trip it would be if something legit pulled me underwater, just to have a closer look. Maybe I don’t want to start surfing again. 😅😂

Elephant rock,

🐘🌋✨ You can find many unique shapes and formations in Icelandic @nature , and this elephant shaped rock is the perfect example. This natural basalt formation looks like a big elephant head with its trunk submerged underwater 💧Video, photos & caption by

There’s so much beauty to be found in nature and it’s hard to not stare in awe as you watch these beautiful creatures glide through the ocean. The humpback whale sightings have been nothing short of incredible here at @salmonfallsak. It’s always been a bucket list trip of mine to come to Alaska on a fishing trip. There’s something about being immersed in nature, away from the busy city life that clears the mind. Salmon Falls has been a trip I’ll never forget, and I can’t wait to share more from this unforgettable experience along the coast of Ketchikan.
